House Points & How to Earn them

While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your House points, while any rulebreaking will lose House points. At the end of the year, the House with the most points is awarded the House Cup, a great honor. I hope each of you will be a credit to whichever House becomes yours.

1. Quidditch
you recieve house points equivalent to all points won on field
can be subtracted for playing dirty, physical violence, etc


2. In class
awarded for good work, correct answers, for participation, class competitions
subtracted for disrespecting professors, general misbehavior, failure to participate, incorrect answers, chewing gum in class, sleeping in class, not wearing proper attire.


3. Around school
awarded for good deeds to other students
subtracted for possession of illegal items, loitering in hallways, being caught ditching, using magic out of class, being in restricted areas, damaging hogwart's property, pranks, failure to follow dress code, abuse of magical items and spells, and general breaking of rules


4. In your common room/dorm
awarded for good deeds to other students
subtracted for being in the dorm of the opposite sex, being in a common room of a different house, general inappropriate or lewd conduct




*note: teachers, staff, and prefects reserve right to award and take points away a their own discretion, so just because it isn't listed here doesn't mean you can't be busted for it. consequences sometimes exceed just taking away house points.*
