✄ --- WELL YOU CAN TAKE ME DOWN --- WITH JUST ONE SINGLE BLOW
Kadia looked up at the shelves towering over her and grinned. The smell of musty old books came to her nose and she closed her eyes in ecstasy taking it all in. She could feel her brothers eyes on her and knew immediately that he was rolling his eyes. He didn’t understand her love. Her guess was confirmed when he gently shoved her and said, “Really Adi your pathetic, there books.” And then motioned that he was leaving. She grinned knowing he was only kidding around and nodded yes before quickly signing I’ll meet you at the Ice-Cream Parlour when your all done. He nodded again and was off like a shot.
Finally alone! She though to herself as she grinned and took off scanning the bookshelves. She had all ready loaded her parents up with the books she was required to have for school but now she was here for her own private supply. She loved all books really and any chance she got she had her nose in a book. It was either that or people watching.
She half walked, half skipped to the section of new books on potions. She pulled a book off the shelf at random and flipped through the pages. It wasn’t what she wanted today and so she shoved it back onto the shelf. Then glanced up noticing a particularly interesting book about two shelves above the last book. She reached for the book and with a bit of difficulty because of her being overly short pulled the new book book off the shelf. She flipped through and became engrossed, it was amazing.
She began to read the book as she walked towards some shelves at the back of the store where actual story books were held. She never took her eyes off the book as she skimmed a particularly interesting potion. She must have become so engrossed by the book that she didn’t pay attention to where she was going at all and hadn’t realized she had gotten to the back of the store.
If she had noticed, she likely would have seen the wall she ran face first into. It wasn’t just a slight bump either. It was a full out run into the wall, drop your book, grab your head, embarrassing run into the wall. Hope no one saw that, she thought as she held her head and looked around to see if anybody had noticed. She didn’t see anybody which made her feel a little better but as she bent to pick up her dropped potions book, she heard someone laughing. It was hard to say if the person was laughing at her or if it was echoing back from the front of the store. But just in case she glanced around again checking to see if anybody was there.

Her Slytherin filter had been lifted and she doubled back against the stacks as she seen the girl looking about to see if anyone had seen her. Her blonde highlights hair cascaded down her shoulders, tickling her dress clothes she wore from her day at the Ministry with her father.
Blair was what people would call born into wealth. Her parents were rich, they wanted the best for her and she already had her future lined up for her. Her attire, her hair all the way up to her manicure and makeup this girl read wealth. She dabbed the corner of her eyes with her french tipped nails, to keep her make up from running as she cleared her throat. She tossed her hair over her shoulder and stepped on long slender stiletto clad leg out from behind the shelf of books to smirk at the girl before her.
"You know, it isn't very safe to read while you walk. You might accidentally say, run into a wall" she grinned at the girl and held a large, green spine book to her stomach as she waited for the girl to speak. There was no sense trying to hide the fact that she had seen her because her laughter surely gave her away. She leaned on one leg and cocked her head to the side looking the girl over once. She didn't remember seeing her at school which usually meant she wasn't popular or a Slytherin.
Blair did have to admit the girl had looks; she needed some makeup, the right outfit and maybe a touch of color in her hair but the girl had a decent figure. She thought about this for a few moments before shaking her head back into reality. “So is this a daily ritual for you then or just a one time embarrassment?” she asked not trying to be rude, just being the only way she knew how to be..Slytherin like.

✄ --- WELL YOU CAN TAKE ME DOWN --- WITH JUST ONE SINGLE BLOW
Kadia looked the girl in front of her up and down, her overly large blue eyes sparking as if she knew a secret. She figured it was rude that she scrutinize the girl like this but when someone spent practically there whole life watching people and reading them it became a habit.
Anybody would have been able to tell that this girl came from wealth, it was written all over her. And Kadia was also almost positive the girl was Slytherin. If you watched the way someone stood, or talked, or looked at you you could almost always place their house. Besides she was pretty sure she’d seen the girl in a Slytherin uniform at school once or twice.
Personality was a bit harder to read on people but Kadia had quite a bit of practice at it. The way the girl looked her over meant that she half way approved of Kadia, which meant she wasn’t completely stuck up. She obviously wasn’t completely stupid either or one would never have found her in a book store, let alone actually holding a book. She probably liked to argue as well, since she was holding a law book, but that was a bit debatable since it could be for someone else. Oh she was a touch arrogant perhaps as well, but then what wealthy person wasn’t. And while some of her words would have offended plenty of people, Kadia had learned to look past them.
She took all of this in, in the few minutes it took the girl to examine her and speak. She smiled at the girls joke about needing to be more careful or she might run into a wall. All ready failed at the one. She thought to herself rubbing her head again. Though I might decided to take this girls advice on reading in walking it does seem to cause some problems.
She had hoped that the girl would have just made fun of her, been content with a smile and a silent laugh and then been on her way, but Kadia was not in luck today. The girl specifically asked her a question, about whether this was a daily ritual or a one time thing. In truth, this thing rarely happened too her, she was almost always aware of her surroundings, but that was a little bit hard to tell this girl when your mute.
She pointed to her throat and tried to speak shaking her head no; to explain to the girl that she couldn’t speak. She expected that the girl wouldn’t stick around much longer after that revelation. Most people didn’t there was always an awkward pause of silence and then an embarrassed look and a hurried excuse of “uhh well yeah I’m super busy I got to go. Nice meeting you.”
Kadia wasn’t offended by this too much. She understood that for most people it was hard to converse with her. After all few people knew sign language, and while she could gesture, and she always carried a notebook to write down her thoughts if they were to complicated, things were still difficult.

Cause baby you're a fireworkMake 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Blair could feel the other girls eyes travel along her body as well. This was no biggie to her since she was rather proud of her body. She was a decent height, decent weight and she looked good which she was told time and again by almost half of the Slytherin boys she hung out with.
As the girl sized her up a bit, Blair realized that judging from the store they were in, and the way she was all fluttery that perhaps this girl’s house was Ravenclaw or maybe Hufflepuff, she seemed a little out there at first. Blair remained silent in waiting for the girl’s response.
When the girl before her pointed at her throat she knew. Or at least she thought she knew. Maybe she was sick and lost her voice but then again she looks perfectly healthy. Then it dawned on her. The girl couldn’t talk! Maybe it was an accident or maybe she was born with it either way Blair found this ironic since lawyers were trained to speak for those who couldn’t.
Normally Blair would turn around and walk away but knowing her training and her thoughts regarding Law she didn’t. This girl was obviously in love with books which only truly happened if you were forced into something by your parents, like she was or if they had very few friends. It was hard to say but Blair did feel a little sorry for her. She straightened her stance, letting her book slide back to her side. “Oh..I’m sorry I didn’t realize” she said after glancing around to be sure no other Slytherins were within earshot.
She figured not many Slytherins would be bound to a bookstore let alone one that housed books that looks used and shrugged it off, looking back at the girl. It was safe to say she would not be dissed for conversing with this girl as long as she wasn’t a Gryffindor or a Hufflepuff which she was hoping she wasn’t but then again her reputation was high enough she didn’t care.
Figuring it was polite to continue the conversation, Blair flipped open the book within her hands and checked the price on it before looking back at the girl. How was she going to understand her if she couldn’t speak? With a mental shrug she decided to try anyways.
“So do you go to Hogwarts?” she asked knowing there were a variety of school around the world, three specifically in this area.
