It was the middle of August, and it seemed like a good time to finally make her way to Hogwarts to inspect the grounds and make any improvements or repairs. That really only gave her a less than a month to prepare before the students would start pouring in. She needed to establish a perimeter, trim back the plants that were overgrown and clear out the pathways in the yards.
Reaching the hut she would be calling home, she released the command on Ronan, who trotted off the investigate the area, and Gwen brought the trunk, owl cage and cat carrier into the hut, not taking the time to glance around. She released both the owl cage and the cat carrier, and Pharaoh and Napoleon exited, Pharaoh flying to a branch sticking out of the wall, and Napoleon slinking around to investigate.
Gwen turned around and exited the building, and stood on the stoop, glancing around. The yard was overgrown, and the pumpkin patch out back was overgrowing around the side of the hut towards the front yard. She could hear Ronan rustling through the brush. Looking out over the hills, she could see the castle high up above her place, though she didn't just see the castle, but the pathways that traveled through the lawns, the wild bushes and the trees that needed to be pruned back.
Ronan came over and sat down next to her, his head reaching the middle of her back. She set a hand down on his head and rubbed behind his ears. She had a lot of work ahead of her. She turned to go back into the hut, thinking to inspect it and clean it up. A soft growl rumbled deep within Ronan's throat, and she paused, turning to look around, wondering what had caused it.
