Cody needed to get away. His housemates were all getting on his nerves. Well perhaps he was generalizing but at least the majority of his housemate had driven him away from the common room excepting his friends of course. He knew exactly what he wanted to do now. The best way to unwind was through music. He was very likely to say something he'd regret later if he didn't find a better way to channel his pent up energy. That or he was seriously going to punch Scorpius' cousin, Damian. Not curse or hex, but flat out PUNCH him.
That is why, on a perfectly beautiful afternoon to be outside Cody was instead going to closet himself in the music hall. It wasn't a popular place to be unless choir or something related was going on so the Slytherin was sure that he'd be alone at least for a little while.
It was a long trek from the dungeons all the way up to the sixth floor but the further away he went from the castle's main activity the less people he ran into. He was grinning by the time he pushed open the doors to the music hall.
Empty. YES.
Relishing in the fact he'd been right about the room being empty, Cody headed straight for the large storage closet that held his personal guitar and band equipment. The school had their own piano and the like but Cody only ever used two guitars. His pride and joy, the new acoustic guitar his Mum had bought him as an early birthday present was one of them. He rummaged through his robe pocket for the key and got the closet open. A bass guitar, two electric guitars (magically enhanced), Cody's acoustic guitar, Damian's drum set and Scorpius' keyboard were all stored in the music hall's closet.
Cody reached for the acoustic and strummed a few cords just to get a feel and immediately the tension ebb away. Once he'd made sure the guitar was tuned he pulled a stool over and sat down. A few more chords played and he'd decided on what song he'd play. The notes for Niel Diamond's, Sweet Caroline came through and he began to sing...
Where it began, I can't begin to knowing But then I know it's growing strong was in the spring, And spring became the summer Who'd believe you'd come along
Hands, touching hands, reaching out Touching me, touching you Oh, sweet Caroline

EVERYDAY’S A ROLLER COASTER I’M A BUMP YOU’LL NEVER GET OVER
Quidditch practice had finished early for Ravenclaw, which had given Amara the chance to prepare for some much needed alone time. As nice as it was to hang out with friends and study in groups there came a time when privacy was something Mara required. With Events club, choir, Quidditch, and tutoring among her prefect duties it was hard to find some time alone to herself. She was always in the presence of others! After a quick shower and a few quick dry spells Amara was out of the locker rooms and headed up towards the commons. Her blonde hair just brushed her shoulders and her face which until this year was normally plain, was painted with just a light make-up. Her eyes were painted with pink shadow and mascara while her lips were kissed with pink gloss that gave her some color among her black pleated uniform skirt and simple Ravenclaw pride tee. Her Quidditch gear sat in the bag over her shoulder as she made her way up to the sixth floor. Although her commons were still a few floors up, she knew a shortcut through a secret passage that would save her some time.
As she walked down the corridor and headed towards the music room something caught her ear and she paused. Her pink studded ears strained to hear what she thought sounded like music, which would make sense seeing how it was a music room and yet she was sure a majority of the students were outside today since it was so nice out. She moved closer quietly, now sure that there was music coming from behind the large oak doors before her. She remained quiet hearing a muffled voice and smiled slightly to herself. If there was one thing Amara knew it was music, singing in particular. She couldn’t play guitar as well as Connor or piano like her brother but singing was something she was well practiced in.
She slowly reached forwards and carefully tried to pry the door open to get a better listen of the song and catch a glimpse of the singer within; however, after just a short way she stopped knowing these old doors were meant for creaking. She peeked her blonde head through the door and seen the back of a boy strumming on a guitar and singing an old muggle singer’s song. Without hesitating she squeezed her petite figure through the small opening and turning her bag sideways brought it through as well. She allowed the bag to slide to the floor softly and stepped towards the singing, her eyes bright with enthusiastic passion.
The boy before her was tall with caramel colored hair and really nice Quidditch shoulders from what she could tell as she came up behind him. His voice was really good definitely better than Connors, though she’d never tell him that and a million times better than Scorpius Malfoys, whom she would now make a point to tell him so once she discovered who the boy was. She brushed a stray blonde hair back off her face as she moved around to catch a glimpse of the boys face. Once her blue orbs landed on the rugged face her feet stopped, her smile faded and her mouth fell slightly ajar. The handsome, blue eyed stranger with the voice of and angel was no one other than.
“Cody McAdams…” she said without really realizing she had done so. She shut her mouth instantly and wet her lips awkwardly looking for an excuse. The sixth year Slytherin Prefect had been the last boy in the castle she had been expecting to be here singing so nicely at that. The last time she had seen him was during April of last year when she had broken up with Scorpius after he had gotten a little rough with her but that of course was before she had learned what make-up was. She instantly felt nervous to have Malfoy’s best friend standing before her while she wore this doll paint all on her face but she quickly regained her composure and held her head high as she waited a moment. “…you’re actually really good. I like your song choice” she said softly, being polite and feeding the young Slytherin a truth filled compliment.

Oh, sweet Caroline Good times never seem so good I've been inclined to believe it never would oooh oh no no..
The last notes on the guitar faltered the moment he heard a voice. A distinctly feminine voice saying his name. He decided he liked this voice especially the way his name sounded when she said it. It was a singing voice, Cody could tell, and he wanted to hear it again.
