I tear my heart open, I sew myself shut;
Having passed the word around at dinner, Marc and Rin dashed along the corridors of the underground, making their way toward a certain painting with a bowl of fruit. Rin followed closely behind Marc, his warm hand holding hers. "Is this really a good idea?" Rin whispered as the two of them ducked into the shadows to avoid being noticed by Peeves.
After Peeves was a safe distance away, the pair made their way down the corridor, before stopping before a painting with a bowl of fruit. Rin herself had never been into the kitchens, and was a little nervous, unsure of what they would be required to do to gain entrance. She wouldn't dream of ever going into the kitchen at her house late at night on her own, so this sneaking around was something new to her.
My weakness is that I care too much...

Dragging Rin along had been a great idea once he had thought it out. She needed to get used to being around other students besides him, so why not hold a little shindig after hours down in the kitchen where no one would find them. For a while at least. He'd gotten the house elfs to agree to let them have this little party, on account that he would bring them lots and lots of socks later. "You worry too much Rin," he whispered back, then pulled her tight against his side as they hid in the shadows from Peeves.
Once the poltergeist had moved on, Marc tugged Rin out of the shadows and after a few moments, the pair had made their way to a painting with a bowl of fruit. "This is the secret," he mumbled, then lightly tickled the pair. It shivered and giggled, then became a handle, which he twisted and once the door opened, he quickly entered, pulling Rin along with him. "Here we are!" he exclaimed, looking around the room. He'd done it up in a rainbow of colors really, so as not one house would be predominate over another. Snacks were placed on a table as longs as many drinks and cups and plates. "This will be fun Rin, I promise" he smiled at the girl, then realizing he was still holding her hand, he let it go. |

EVERYDAY’S A ROLLER COASTER [/font][/color]  I’M A BUMP YOU’LL NEVER GET OVER[/center]
Amara was quick to descend the stairs from Ravenclaw tower despite her being a prefect. She knew they all needed a night to relax and just have fun. She hurried along the shadows and down to the kitchens performing the pear tickling and entering the kitchen's interior. As she reached the bottom of the stairs she had just happened to catch Marc and the firl holding hands and raised her brow.
Without warning she jumped onto Marc's back, grabbing him around the neck lightly. Lucky for him she didn't weigh very much. She smiled and hugged her long time friend with a smile. "BOO..this has to be one of your better ideas" she grinned, kissing his cheek and letting go of his neck.
"OH STRAWBERRIES! I'm starved..tutoring and quidditch practice you know" she shrugged with a smile at the girl with him heading over to the berries calling her name. She grabbed a few and plopped back on the couch, just relaxing. She knew Cody would probably not be around tonight so more time for fun with her and her friends.

Connor had seen Amara disappear and grabbed the cute little blonde Raven he had been studying with, pulling her along to the party. He followed his friend and entered the kitchen in time to see her jump on MArc. Laughing he could only shake his head as he motioned to Lexie to grab something to eat as he walked over to Marc.
He placed a hand on the boys shoulder and keeping his voice low motioned to the blonde he had brought with him. "I uh brought you a little treat" he clapped him on the shoulder with a wink and smiled at the girl next to him. "Hey!" he smiled at her as well before diving onto the couch next to Amara.
"Hey Mars bar, Cody not giving you a break between work outs to feed you" he teased her about her Slytherin boy toy, before dodging a blow with a laugh.

Rin stood near Marc, rather unselfconscious of herself. She watched as first the blond with the short hair, then the male and the other blond entered, and exchanged shy smiles with them when they smiled at her. She couldn't believe she had allowed Marc to talk her into coming down here tonight. She would have preferred staying in her dorm reading a book.
She glanced down at the hand that had been held only moments before by Marc, then looked up when she heard the male whisper about bringing Marc a little 'treat' and she glanced over at the other blonde female. She looked at the three, and knew who they were, but she figured they probably didn't know who she was. She had seen them with Marc a lot and he talked about Connor and Amara every once in a while, but Rin was sure he probably never talked about her to them. Which suited her fine, seeing as she wasn't very social.
Soft music played in the background as Rin stood awkwardly by Marc. She hoped that it would get full soon and he would be preoccupied with others so she could slip out and escape.

About to offer Rin some refreshments, he was shocked when a person latched onto his neck like a monkey. He smiled back at Amara, reaching to wrap an arm around her in a hug. "Hey Mara, yeh, I try to have good idea's every once in a while, just to keep you guys guessing," he smiled and watched her move away. The door opened again, and he watched Connor and Lexie file in, and he clapped a hand on Connor's shoulder as well.
"Thanks!" he mumbled back, glancing at the blonde by the refreshments. He watched Connor make his way over to Amara, and then glanced back at Rin, who seemed at a little loss. Then it hit him. She hadn't really ever met Connor or Amara or Lexie to come to think of it. Or if she hadn't it apparently hadn't stuck in their heads, since she'd only gotten polite smiles from them. He placed a hand on her head, smiling down at her. "Fun. I promise," he said with another smile. |

Lexie watched as the more popular Ravenclaws interacted and she stood back a moment, tucking a stray hair behind her ear. She wasn't used to being around a lot of people seeing as how most found her weird for being so engaged with animals. In her fourth year she had actually been the victim of bullying after a Slytherin girl caught her talking to her pet mouse. She glanced over at the girl next to Marc and noted that she too seemed almost out of place.
As Connor talked with Marc, Lexie walked over to the girl beside him and grinned sweetly at her. "Your the girl who's always in the library or up late in the commons aren't you?" she asked, remembering the nights she'd get in late and see the dark haired girl by the fire. This girl had in fact been the only person to occupy the commons the night she was bullied. She smiled and held her arm innocently in front of her.
"I'm Lexie...or all my friends call me Lexie." she smiled before realizing that she didn't really have too many friends but the ones in this room called her that anyways.

Rin looked up at Marc with a small smile, then turned when she noticed the other blonde make her way towards the two of them. Rin recognized her as one of the girls that wasn't always hanging around with the crowd, kind of like herself. She could remember hearing the common room door opening and this blonde entering late at night. She never took much notice to it, seeing as she probably thought at the time she was getting back from seeing a boyfriend from a different house.
Rin nodded when she pegged her as being the loner who hung out with the books or late at night all alone. She looked down at the hand extended to her. She knew who Alexendra or Lexie was, but it was kind of nice to have her introduce herself to her. So Rin took hold of the extended hand, giving the older girl a small smile. "I'm Rin. Can't really get another nickname with such a short name already," she said with a smile.
